Carter Albrecht

In Carter Albrecht's short life he created and left for us a tremendous body of unique and exciting original work. His music is an enduring legacy. With a degree in classical piano and performance from Southern Methodist University, his deep understanding of all things musical allowed him to provide music for international commercials, movie scores, his own critically acclaimed CD's and as a contributor to countless other projects as a respected highly sought out studio musician. As a gifted pianist, keyboardist and guitarist, he wrote hundreds of original pieces and arranged numerous pieces for others.

Carter worked with internationally renowned musicians such as Paul Simon, Steve Gadd, Pino Paladino and Charlie Sexton. He was lead singer and song writer for Sparrows and a member of Edie Brickell and New Bohemians and Sorta at the time of his death. His music is without boundaries: Rock, classical, blues, jazz, country and he is equally adept in crafting subtle nuances with his acoustic work as he is working with a hard, driving sound. His lyrics are stunning and layered with meaning.

His final piece of work, Jesus is Alive and Living in London, is now available on iTunes.

Rock and Roll Days - A collection of songs from Carter's first release under The Sparrows' monikor, Rock and Roll Days captures the energy of wide-open possibilities with nuanced, artful lyrics and an elegant mixture of driving rock and rustic slide.
Snowflakes - Carter's second batch of songs with the Sparrows, Snowflakes displays an amazing musician/writer at the top of his craft. You'll be hard pressed to find a more inspired piece of songwriting than "Summer’s Lullaby." At times wickedly funny, at times moving, Snowflakes is pure brilliance.
